2026/27 Opening Mass – September 30, 2026

Dear Holy Cross School Families,

Masses will be celebrated throughout the 2026–2027 school year at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary Parish. Students will travel to and from the church by school bus.

Our first school Mass of the 2026–2027 school year will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

We encourage all students to attend Mass so that we can come together as a school community to celebrate our faith. All Holy Cross staff will also be attending the Mass. As a result, there will be no staff available at the school to supervise students who do not attend.

A permission form must be completed for your child to attend Mass and submitted to your child’s classroom teacher. If you did not complete the permission form through SchoolCash Online, please contact your child’s teacher directly to request a paper copy.

Reporting Absences

As a reminder, please report your child’s absence in advance whenever possible using School Messenger Safe Arrival, rather than sending a note or calling or emailing the school.

There are three convenient ways to report an absence:

• SM Home App: Download the School Messenger App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or access it through home.schoolmessenger.ca.
• Online: Use School Messenger Safe Arrival through home.schoolmessenger.ca.
• By Phone: Call the toll-free SafeArrival number at 1-844-445-4381.

Safe Arrival is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and future absences can be reported at any time.

If we do not receive an absence notification from a parent/guardian, the SafeArrival system will contact the home and send an email to the parent/guardian contact information on file to confirm the absence. If you receive an automated notification, please listen to or read the message and follow the instructions provided.
