2025/26 School Year Opening Mass

Hello Holy Cross School Families,

Masses are scheduled throughout the 2025/26 school year at Our Lady of Assumption Church, St. Mary Parish. Students will travel to/from the church via school bus.

This year’s school opening mass is scheduled for September 17, 2025.

We encourage all students to attend the masses so that we can come together as a community to celebrate. Please note that our entire staff will be attending the masses as well, and as such, there will not be staff available at the school to supervise students who do not attend.

A permission form for students to attend must be completed and submitted to your child’s classroom teacher. Please contact your child’s teacher directly to obtain a paper copy form if you did not complete the original form via School Cash Online in September 2025.

This is a reminder for families to please report absences in advance whenever possible using School Messenger SafeArrival instead of sending notes or calling/emailing the school. You can report your child’s absence in advance whenever possible using one of these convenient methods:

1. Using your mobile device: Download and install the SM Home app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://home.schoolmessenger.ca)
2. Use the School Messenger SafeArrival website, https://home.schoolmessenger.ca.
3. Call the toll-free number: 1-844-445-4381

These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time. When we do not hear from a parent/guardian, the School Messenger SafeArrival system will call home and send an email to the parent/guardian contact information on file to confirm the absence. We ask that if you receive the automated message to please listen to or read it and follow instructions.
